Genome Analysis

About

The Genome Analysis Team, led by David Swarbreck is responsible for the organisation of the genome annotation and specialised data analysis.  The aim of the team is to work along side scientific experts to analyse, annotate and curate genomic sequences. These activities are characterised by high-quality standards with a focus on detailed and specific aspects such as rare isoforms, gene families and metabolic pathways. The members of the Genome Analysis group are involved in the analysis and annotation of plant, animal and microbial genomes with a focus on using computational approaches to analyze sequence data and understand gene regulation.

Activities

Areas of interest include utilising next generation sequencing for:

  • Gene annotation
  • Gene expression
  • Epigenetics
  • Metagenomics/Metatranscriptomics
